The Jim and I seem to get sucked into the fantastic offerings of the Sci-Fi channel each fourth of July, as they offer up their Twilight Zone marathon. I’ve always been a huge fan of the old-school TW and look forward to seeing Rod Serling show up early in each creepy-feeling morality tale. It’s not that the old black & white TW is mind-numbingly scary, but it was always good at providing a twist that made you feel a little bit creeped out. There is no bloody gore, the make up was okay for it’s time but nothing compared to the movie effects people of 2008…but still, they are pretty solidly good in their storytelling. Each one of them seems to have something you can “take with you”, whether it’s a lesson about the effects of paranoia or conformity, or what-have-you. Also, if you watch these loyally, you’ll notice how many stars were on this show. Last night we noticed a young Leonard Nimoy and Dean Stockwell, in just 1 episode! Plus, no matter how often I’ve watched these, each July 4th I seem to see one that I’ve never seen before. There are too many great episodes to name, but if I had to pick some of my favorites (but don’t click on the link if you don’t want to spoil the episodes):
- Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up?

- The Eye Of The Beholder
- The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street
- The After Hours
- The Invaders
- The Silence
- The Little People
- Living Doll
So, if you get a chance – stop on by and check out some of these gems of TV…look, there’s the sign post up ahead…for…The Twilight Zone.

Okay, so it sounds more elaborate than it really is right? This is our little slice of internet nonsense, which basically is our on-going effort to keep our friends and family up-to-date on our lives, our love and our continuing pursuit of pomegranates. In this modern age of movement, we’ve realized that distance is not an excuse to not keep everyone posted, so please - stop by anytime - in person or internet-ly and know that you are all never far from our thoughts.
